Prison Ministry
Published at: August 24, 2026
At the end of 2025, we received a new member at our church - the Chaplain of Kamiti Maximum Security Prison. This man and his wife are committed believers and from the time they came, they began to invite us to prison ministry.
In 2026, we were able to join them at Kamiti Medium Security for a Sunday service. While there, we discovered there are many more opportunities. With a population of more than 2,000, less than 300 are present in the actual service but with enough time and resources, we would be permitted to visit the others, share the gospel with them and hand out literature and other desperately needed supplies.
The men and women in Kenya's prisons are often very open to the gospel. Sadly, many of the believers are in desperate need of encouragement and quite a number have been unjustly incarcerated. Prisoners who do not have family members go through desperate struggles as their hygiene items including soap, toilet paper and other essentials are not provided.
Our goal and desire would be to visit one prison per month as recommended by our friend. While there, we would be able to
1. Minister to the body of believers
2. Evangelize to others
3. Hand out hygiene items and the word of God
Through this, we believe, we will continue to fulfill the words of Christ in Matthew 25:36 "I was in prison and you visited me."
One mission would be well done with $320. This would cater for fuel as well as the items that would be distributed to the inmates. Therefore, one year's support would come to around $3,840.
Thank you for praying with us and standing with us for an many missions as the Lord will lead. We are so grateful!
