Biography

Victor is a kind and hardworking young man. He is a middle school student in Kakuma town. Sadly, his Dad passed away when he was only seven years old and his Mom, struggling with depression abandoned her only child. Victor was taken in by a neighboring Pastor and his wife who couldn't bear to see him suffer. From that time until today, he has been like a son to them. However, with the financial burden of their own children and several others they have taken in, Victor's adopted parents are worried that they will not be able to support him once he goes to high school. He desires to work hard and believes with the help and prayers of a friend, he can overcome the challenges of life and become all God created him to be. Would you be that friend to him

About Victor's Home: Turkana

Turkana County is a part of Northwestern Kenya located in the former Rift Valley province. Turkana is majorly arid and semi-arid, and the climate is very hot and dry making farming and supply of food a constant  challenge. This county is also marginalized due to poor infrastructure.  The main diet in these areas is not predictable since they  rely majorly on relief food. The main language spoken is Turkana and the primary religion is traditional African beliefs. In recent years, both Christianity and Islam have also been competing for the hearts of the people here.   *Because the people of Turkana county largely depend on livestock and relief food, they are still semi-nomadic and though the schools help create stability, there are still times when a family moves and we are unable to trace them.
