Lilian is a friendly and kind young woman, She did her form four exams last year and she is still at home waiting to join college. Lilian is the second born of four siblings who live with their parents in a small rented room. Her parents do their best to make ends meet but they, without adequate education and opportunities, are left struggling to put food on the table, let alone take care of their children’s educational needs. She believes with the help of God, she can overcome the poverty facing her to become all God has created her to be. Would you be the one to give him that opportunity?
About Lilian's Home: Machakos
Machakos County is a part of Southeastern Kenya is generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
