Biography
Musyoki is an average ,energetic and remarkably resilient young boy who is currently in grade 4 at Mutonguni Primary School. He lives with his mother and two siblings, where they collectively navigate a highly challenging and financially unstable domestic environment.Musyoki has an immense intellectual curiosity and academic curiosity but his educational path is threatened by a daily,exhausting struggle to afford his basic needs and schooling needs.Because his family lacks a source of income ,they face a continuous challenge to sustain all the three children in school. His mother works as a casual labourer ,who works on unpredictable day labor jobs that she gets ,hence securing the basic needs like food,shelter,clothing ,school needs becomes a great challenge.However ,despite these heavy emotional and physical burdens of systemic poverty at a tender age,Musyoki remains deeply determined to excel in his academics ,demonstrating an inspiring level of focus and hardwork. He walks to school each morning with a bright smile and eager to absorb new knowledge. When given a stable opportunity to learn without being sent home ,he has the opportunity to excel and grow to become the person God intended him to become. About Musyoki's Home: Makueni
Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
