Overview
Biography
Eunice is a friendly, hardworking and determined young woman. She is currently in 11th grade at a local girl's school where she has been able to study solely by the good grace of the principal. The principal knows she will not be able to help Eunice once she has finished high school and together, we are trusting God for someone to walk with her. Eunice never knew her parents but was raised by a distant relative who is already more than 70 years old and despite her best efforts, struggles to keep food on the table much less take care of Eunice's other needs. Sadly, Eunice is also HIV positive which adds to the urgency of her situation. Despite these setbacks, Eunice remains hopeful and we believe with a hand to hold, she will work hard and become a woman of God in her generation.

Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
