Dennis is a friendly, jovial, and hardworking young man currently in grade 8 at a local Primary School. His father died of cancer years back, leaving Dennis' mother with the other 6 siblings to take care of them. The mother can only take casual jobs, which mostly come during the rainy season, depending on the availability of rain. Sadly, she has also turned to drugs and alcoholism to cope with the situation and a number of Dennis’ older siblings have taken the same direction, and without support, he does not know how he can manage to finish his education or become who God created him to be. About Dennis's Home: Makueni
Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
