Biography
Celestine Mwikali is a seventeen-year-old girl in Grade 12 at a local Girls Secondary School. She comes from a humble family and is raised by her widowed mother alongside her six siblings. Her life changed dramatically after the death of her father in 2008 due to illness. His passing left the family without their main provider, forcing Celestine's mother to take sole responsibility for raising and caring for seven children. Unfortunately, her mother is unemployed and struggles daily to provide food, clothing, school fees, and other basic needs for the family. Despite these challenges, Celestine remains determined and focused on her education. A helping hand could make a lasting difference in Celestine’s life, giving her access to the educational resources and opportunities she needs to succeed. About Celestine's Home: Kitui
Kitui County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits, and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
