Biography

Mary Ngata is an 18-year-old girl in Grade 11, raised by both her parents who are small-scale farmers. Despite their tireless efforts, the income they earn is not enough to meet the family’s daily needs or support the education of Mary and her four siblings. Life has been full of challenges, with frequent shortages of food and constant worry over school fees. Currently, Mary has a fee balance of $610 USD, which threatens her ability to continue her education.Even in these difficult circumstances, Mary remains determined and hopeful. She studies hard and dreams of a better future for her family. We are trusting God to provide a friend for Mary who will be able to finish the journey with her. Would you pray about helping her become all God created her to be?

About Mary's Home: Kitui

Kitui County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short.   The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits, and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
