Biography
Grace is a bright young woman in grade 12 at a local girls' high school. She comes from a needy family; her father is a casual laborer, and her mother is a farmer, both of whom find it challenging to provide enough food and fees for Grace and her three siblings. Despite these struggles, Grace remains optimistic about doing well in her grade 12 and pursuing her university education. She hopes to find support that will help her achieve her goals. About Grace's Home: Kitui
Kitui County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits, and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
