Biography
Esther is a bright and determined young woman who is currently in grade 10 at a local school. She lives with her mother and one sibling. After their father's death, they faced great challenges, including being forced out of their home by relatives and having to rent a place to live. Making ends meet for rent was difficult until some friends came together to help them build a small house on a piece of land they owned. Their mother works various casual jobs to provide for the family, ensuring that they have food and access to education. Esther is dedicated to her studies and is hopeful for support in completing her education so that she can help her family and contribute positively to her community in the future. Kiambu County is a part of central Kenya. It has a vibrant mix of urban and rural areas , it offers a blend of modernity and tradition. The climate is moderate with distinct wet and dry seasons . It is known for producing a variety of crops including tea, coffee and horticultural products. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikuyu and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
