Overview
Biography
Musyoka is a friendly and hardworking young man. He is currently in grade 10 at a very good Secondary School where he is working hard but slightly below average. Musyoka has seen a lot of pain in his life. When he was young, his mother left the family. Later, his Dad passed away leaving Musyoka and his two siblings with their aged grandparents. The grandparents are very old and the children help provide by farming their small piece of land and helping neighbors when they have work to do. Musyoka has managed to be in school only by the help of well wishers and teachers but is still often sent home from school. We believe with your help and support, he will be able to focus in his studies, overcome his current challenges and become a man of blessing for his family and community. Would you stand with him?
About Musyoka's Home: Makueni
Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
