Biography
Stanley, a grade 8 student at the local Junior Secondary School, is a bright and resilient young man with immense potential, showing great strength of character despite the severe economic hardships his family faces. Following the tragic passing of his father, Stanley’s mother became the sole breadwinner and caregiver for him and his four siblings. She works tirelessly, taking any available casual jobs to provide for the family. However,with five children to support on unpredictable income,providing basic needs is a constant struggle, making the costs of fees and learning materials overwhelming challenge. Despite these obstacles,he dreams of continuing his education and believes that with perseverance, a door will eventually open for him to go through all levels of education. Could be the one interested to make a difference in Stanly’s life?

Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
