Biography
John is a bright, welcoming and courageous young boy. Sadly, he and his two siblings are staying with their elderly grandmother since they lost both of their parents when John was very young. John's grandmother does her best to take care of the children but it is not an easy task when she does not have a job or an education. The family survives from some small scale farming which is weather dependant. John has big dreams and believes with a hand to hold he can become a man of God who brings light to his family and community. Would you be the one who give him the opportunity to overcome?
About John's Home: Makueni
Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
