Biography
Alex is a hardworking and serious young boy. He is currently in grade 8 at Mulala Primary School. He is the first born of three children. Sadly, he has never known his dad and his mom has completely abandoned the children. Currently they live with their old grandmother who is a drunkard and is unable to take care of them. Most of the other relatives are irresponsible and those who care have other children whom they are responsible for. The children survive on food and school fees given by well wishers in the community but we believe sponsorship would make a long term difference for them - providing not only for their physical needs but spiritual and emotional as well. Would you pray about being that friend to Alex?
About Alex's Home: Makueni
Makueni County is a part of Southeastern Kenya generally known as Ukambani. The climate is usually hot and dry making farming a challenge and food supplies short. The main diet in these areas is corn products, beans, some fruits and green vegetables such as kale when the weather permits. The main language spoken is Kikamba and the primary religion is Christianity though there is still much traditional superstition and a recent influx of Islam.
