Pursued By God

In a world where faith and doubt often collide, the story of Muuo, a young boy who found his way back to God, serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of redemption. It all began when we met Muuo a number of years ago. He was just a young boy, full of life and potential, and we were drawn to him as there was something special in him. Muuo was not only bright in class but he was active in extra-curricular activities and stood out among his family members. Sadly, he did not know his dad and his mom was rarely involved in his life. He and 11 cousins were under the care of their great grandmother who could barely feed them. We had a desire to invest in his life and share the love of Jesus with him.

As time passed, we lost touch with Muuo, thinking he was being taken care of by another organization which had shown commitment. But little did we know, Muuo's journey was taking a dramatic downward turn. Years later, a Pastor from Muuo's home area reached out to us with devastating news: Muuo had joined a local mosque, changed his name to Adnan, and confidently declared himself a muslim just because that was the one place he could get a meal to eat.

Our hearts broke as she thought about the young boy we had once known. We were disturbed to think he was desperate enough that he would leave what he knew to be true for the sake of survival. But as we prepared to meet with Muuo, we was filled with a sense of hope and determination. We knew God was not done with Muuo yet.

The meeting between us and Muuo several weeks ago was a pivotal. We shared the love of Jesus with Muuo, explaining the difference between Islam and Christianity. We spoke of Jesus' ability to bring life and hope to those who are lost and alone, not just for this lifetime but even in eternity through the forgiveness offered in His beautiful shed blood. Muuo listened intently, and as he did, something remarkable happened.

Without hesitation, Muuo declared that he had completely decided to follow Jesus. He didn't need time to think or pray about it; he knew that this was the path he was meant to take. In that moment, we and the Pastor prayed for Muuo's salvation, and he was dedicated to the Lord.

Today, Muuo is attending church, filled with hope and joy. He is a living testament to the power of redemption and the love of our Heavenly Father.

Muuo's story is a reminder that no one is ever too far gone for God to reach. He is the God of second chances, the God who leaves the 99 to find the one. As we reflect on Muuo's journey, we are reminded of the importance of perseverance and hope in the face of adversity.
